"At Nimiipuu Health, faced with significant financial constraints within the Tribal Open Source Project, I embarked on a journey of organizational innovation. With limited resources and an ever-expanding technical landscape, I orchestrated a redesign of our computing infrastructure. This overhaul demanded speed, scalability, cost-effectiveness, redundancy, and rapid recovery capabilities. Leveraging Open Source Linux and the collaborative power of the Open Source Community, I meticulously crafted a pioneering network architecture. Collaborating closely with oversight bodies such as the Indian Health Services (IHS), the project unfolded over 18 months, culminating in resounding success. Today, our revolutionary network model has garnered attention from neighboring tribal communities, who seek both our network topology and expert guidance on project intricacies."

Joslin Vision Network (JVN)

The Joslin Vision Network (JVN) stands as a beacon of organizational resilience and resourcefulness within the realm of healthcare innovation. Affiliated with Harvard Medical School, this Diabetes Eye Care Program has redefined patient evaluation for diabetic eye disease through ingenuity and determination.

Initially, the JVN project faced setbacks under the previous IT director, casting doubt on its feasibility. However, recognizing the critical need amid the rising number of diabetes patients, both the medical team and the current director embarked on a mission to revive the project.

With unwavering commitment, the team dedicated six months to overhaul the initiative, transforming it into a high-powered, specialty camera tailored for capturing precise images of the back of the eye. This innovative approach not only addressed the technological challenges but also aligned seamlessly with the medical requirements.

The successful resurrection of the JVN project underscores the collaborative spirit between medical professionals and IT experts. Through strategic planning, meticulous execution, and a shared vision, the program now thrives, offering invaluable support to healthcare providers and patients alike.

IPTV and Secure American/Afghanistan Communications Project

As the Project Leader and lead developer for an independent contract with the CIA training camps in Afghanistan, I showcased exceptional organizational skills and resourcefulness. Our primary achievement was establishing secure data transmission utilizing factional geostationary and orbiting satellites, which even included US TV transmissions.

One of the key elements of our approach was the strategic deployment of remote work for most of our team based in the United States. This decision not only minimized operational costs but also significantly reduced the risk of danger for our team members. By leveraging remote work, we ensured the safety and efficiency of our operations, demonstrating adaptability and forward-thinking in the face of challenging circumstances.

Dexis X-Ray Sensor Project

As the leader of the Dexis Sensor Project, I demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and resourcefulness, overcoming challenges that others deemed impossible. Despite skepticism from our Indian Health Services (IHS) Team, we successfully developed a groundbreaking solution for utilizing Dexis Sensors in the dental field.

The uniqueness of our approach lay in the adoption of USB Redirection technology, a cutting-edge method that diverged from traditional computer setups. Leveraging open-source Linux platforms, including TCX and the USB/IP Project, we pioneered a solution that enabled oral radiological imaging via USB connections, revolutionizing dental diagnostics.

Our project's success was underscored by its recognition from industry giants like Kodak, who sought detailed insights into our innovative methodology. By integrating USB Redirection technology, we not only streamlined dental operatory setups with smaller, quieter thin client technology but also centralized data collection across Wide Area Networks (WAN) through point-to-point tunneling.

Through meticulous planning, bold experimentation, and a commitment to pushing boundaries, our team transformed what was once thought impossible into a tangible reality, marking a significant breakthrough in dental imaging technology.

Developed Quick Lube POS Software

As the architect behind an innovative point-of-sale (POS) system catering to the quick lube industry, I demonstrated remarkable organizational prowess and resourcefulness. Leveraging Visual Basic and Microsoft Word, we engineered a cost-effective solution that disrupted the market landscape.

Our POS system not only provided a seamless user experience but also offered an affordable alternative for small to medium-sized businesses with three to six bay units. By utilizing Microsoft Word for invoice creation and storage, we optimized functionality while keeping costs down.

Priced competitively between $3800 to $5400 per installation, our solution democratized access to advanced POS technology within the quick lube industry, empowering businesses to streamline operations and enhance customer service without breaking the bank.

It demanded the expertise of numerous data specialists to effectively link our Ensemble system (InterSystems Cache) with the Beacon Team located in Spokane. Our innovative approach didn't stop there; we also navigated the uncharted territory of healthcare information exchange by implementing HL7, a groundbreaking protocol tailored specifically for the medical field. Through strategic planning and unwavering determination, we overcame obstacles to bring this visionary project to fruition, showcasing our commitment to organization and resourcefulness.
